hmm interesting? a laugh is easier to procure from people but sincerity would not be at the highest measure. People laugh to prevent disclosure of real emotion, so it would be common to see or make a person laugh ....
but then is your question asking public or private displays???
I think at the same time we hurt people more often than we realise, through lack of empathy, lack of respect and common disregard.
So my answer is ....
Publicly - laugh
Privately - Cry

I think it is easier to make people laugh. I would rather make people laugh than cry. So, that is why it is easier for me, to make people laugh than cry.
