I have two male bettas that have been in the same 10 gallon tank for about 2 weeks now. They have seen eachother and have even swam right by each other. They have never flared at each other or anything, though they did flare at my two other swordtail fish. I was changing tank mates when they were put together and now that i see they do fine together, i am thinking about just leaving them with eachother. I kno its not the best idea but i was just wondering whats going on.

Normal bettas sold at pet stores are bred for colour/appearance, not for their fighting qualities so its possible that your male betta has sort of eh, got "peacafied" during the process unintentionally.

However, bettas normally avoid each other, since in the wild, they mostly fight for territory, but if egged on or put in a small container together, they WILL fight themselves to death(usually the case, although not always)

I would say that you have a real world record type of situation going on then! Male Bettas fighting is something that is very basic about the very breed of fish. I suppose it possible that your tank has enough cover (plants, rocks, decorations) so they can hide from each other. Keep an eye out on thier fins. If they look like they have been nibbled on, then they are fighting or your other fish or attacking them. Its the reason that most male bettas do better in a small container on their own.

You must have just got lucky and bought 2 really nice ones. And it could be that the tank is big enough, because i've read that you can house 2 male betta together if the tank is large enough, but it is not recommended. I have 2 male bettas myself, but i havent tried putting them together
