Libertarians wan't to use guns to protect themselves from the frustration of poor people rather than let the government do it through welfare provision.

Simple. If an action has no effect on another person or society as a whole, the government has no right to legislate on it. Neither party is anywhere close to this ideal.

Thomas Jefferson said "the legitimate powers of government are restricted to only such acts which are injurious to others." This is the libertarian ideal.

Libertarians are NOT opposed to laws or government. Both are essential to a civilized society. They ARE opposed to laws which restrict personal freedom and to oppressive government.

They're core belief is that government should be as small as possible, and that laws should only regulate what is necessary for a stable society.

They believe that individuals and companies should be held responsible for what they have done, but not punished or penalized based solely on what they might do.

They support victim's rights, and harsh punishments for criminals. But they also support due process, and the idea of innocent until proven guilty. They oppose welfare and industry subsidies, as well as opposing excessive industry regulation.

They are not closer to Democrats or Republicans. They reject both forms of large government.

I should say "we", because of all the political parties, the Libertarians are the closest I've seen to my own views.

No, Libertarians do not believe there should be no laws.

Basically, Libertarians believe in maximum freedom and minimum government intrusion (afterall, every law is a restriction of freedom). Libertarians believe that everyone has the right to live his/her own life as he/she sees fit as long as he/she does not interfere with the rights of others.

If someone is drinking himself into oblivion on his couch in front to the television - it doesn't concern me and it is none of my business. However, if he decides to get behind the wheel of the car, endangering the lives of everyone on the road, then it is society's concern.

If Mo decides to hire Joe to clean-out his kitchen at $4.00 and hour, Libertarians believe those two should be allowed to negotiate their own contract without government interference (minimum wage laws).

i'm conservative (leaning more suitable in route of statism than in route of Libertarian) and my maximum efficient "political" stand aspect is ..... hm, ..... no longer truly a "political" aspect in any respect. it truly is that the 9 members of the U. S. excellent courtroom are meant to be the 9 maximum noticeably objective interpreters of regulation that this u . s . can likely discover and they of route are not. In my judgment, the perfect extremely reliable and good member of the courtroom became Hugo Black, who retired a touch over 40 years in the past. all of something because then were fairly disappointing. This u . s . needs to discover more suitable human beings like Black and prefer Holmes and Cardozo and rent them to the courtroom. properly, now that i imagine about it, i favor to characteristic an extra suitable "political" stand. i imagine we desire an modification to the structure to replaces section a million of the 14th modification, to make its meaning clearer and narrower.
