Wal-Mart sells a type of nail polish that you put on your nails to make you stop biting them. Or you can wear gloves.

If your swallowing your fingernails after you are biting them... take this as a food for thought... as the fingernails make it down and into your intestine they make fine cuts from the top of your intestine all the way through your rectum and out your butt. So, if you start bleeding when you go to the bathroom it is being caused by your fingernails. Now, on the thought of acrylic nails, as long as you go to a clean salon to have them puton then there should be nothing wrong with them. But, do not wear them all the time.... after a bit, give your nails a break.

O.K. Here where my ways to get me to stop biting my nails.

1. Take the time to paint them. Buy some colors you like, and paint them nice. (The more coats the better.)

2. Take a multi vitamin daily.

3. Take a GNC women's hair, skin and nail formula.

If you follow these three things for at least a week (Without biting your nails) you will break the habit. Your constant upkeep of your nails will eliminate the snags you want to bite and even, and the vitamin's will strenghten your nails so they will be white and strong. Not clear and weak!

(Rite Aid sells the GNC brand as well as GNC stores)

You are probably doing it without thinking. You're going to have to set a goal to stop. Its a self control/self-awareness thing. STOP and think before you bite. Why are you doing this? Are you nervous? Are you bored? Are you stressed? Find something else to do to occupy your hands. That Sally Hansen stuff tastes terrible but its just to remind you not to bite your nails. If you are determined to do it or do it without thinking, you're going to still do it. You have to think of it as a nasty habit that you want to quit like smoking or overeating. You can do it. Just think first.

Unless YOU really don't want to quit, nothing will ever help. I'm such a nail biter myself, and while some say it's caused by stress and events in my history, I still have to quit myself. Get some support, but apart from that, you will have to find the courage to break the habit and quit doing it yourself.

How about this? Did you know that 90% of what is in your nails is feces, ands the other 10% is peanut butter. It's a fact. So stop, or you will be eating poo for your whole life.
