Getting a legit job modeling is supposed to be extremely competitive, and there are a lot of low-life (not to be said to them :) scammers out there ready to take your money for 'pictures' or such with the promise of landing a great modeling gig. Modeling involves quite a bit of acting in front of the camera (even as seen on America's Next Top Model) and staying in the same physical position for long periods of time. It can entail modeling fur coats in the sweltering, hot sun or two piece bathings suits or lingerie in the frigid winter. Bone structure is very important too.

There is typically a lot of rejection in the modeling business as there is in any of the entertainment related professions including acting and performing. Perhaps if you really want to try to pursue getting a job or such, try the reputable agencies such as John Casablancas, Elite Model Management or other well-known one. I hope that you don't get depressed though if you don't get a call from the place as I'm sure that they get countless photos of those looking to break into the modeling field.
