Will you please watch this clip so you can better understand the game? Funny how you mention that Hull (although you might have said Bobby) and Gretzky (whom is also mentioned in this clip as being FOR fighting). It makes me wonder where you get your facts or do you just make stuff up? Anyways, the good stuff comes just after the 5:00 mark on the clip. You recently posted asking "Is fighting really needed in the NHL?"
I think that Brett Hull gives you a good answer.

raynrock-i am really suprised why you even spend time on a hockey board seeing that have absolutely NO IDEA about ANY aspect of the game. You "dude" are a dip$hit.

A Flyer fan that doesn't enjoy fighting is not a Flyer fan. The Flyers best years were built on nastiness (the Philly flu was great)-you are not a Flyer fan. Nonetheless, how's bout' them Sixers?

Clueless- I'd say either Nathan Dempsey or Tyson Nash. LOL.

Dude - what is your OBSESSION with fighting? Everyone knows it's a BIG part of why no one takes hockey seriously - and pretty much no one does. If someone gets hit in football or baseball or basketball, you don't start swinging, and there's no logical reason to in hockey, either. I mean, how old are we here??? Grow up!

ME- WTF?! people dont take hockey seriousley because of hockey fights? haha. right. People dont take it seriousley because of stupid rules, and because peole like you swear you know what you are talking about. Then you go on to say pretty much no one does. Well then that just means your not a true loyal fan yourself, so you have no right to be talking about this issue.

I did indeed say Bobby, not Brett.

And if Gretzky has come out supporting it, then he has reversed his position from what it was earlier, because that was not the case before.

And I am certainly not pulling out of thin air the many people I have talked about sports with and their dislike of hockey because of the fighting.

Look, if you enjoy watching this stuff, if you think it should be part of the game, if you want to point out nearly every NHL player who has lived has been in a fight, that many if not most people who are in the sport think it's "a good thing" I have no response.I certainly have no right to tell you what should be entertainment for YOU.

I merely asked a question, gave you my own opinion, and now for the last 3 days you will not rest and stop asking questions until you "make your case". You have made it, in fact I never said you didn't have a point.

The problem I have is where you claim I (or anyone who feels like I do) that hockey can still be played without this (and it CAN, I'm sure you've watched the Olympics or game 7 of a playoff series) is "wrong", and "doesn't know hockey".

By the way, which of these people was the fastest skater.....Ali, Marciano, Dempsey, or Tyson?

I enjoy debating you Bob, and we have something in common - we're FLYERS fans. You're alright with me - you keep things interesting.

I'd be alright with some scrappers on the Flyers as long as they could also get some quicker players - they are painfully slow. As far as the Sixers - I loved the Iverson trade - and dumping Webber was even better.

Brett's take on fighting in the NHL was right on the money. And he is someone who knows what he is talking about.
I got a kick out of his "one and a half fights" in his career.
