Ballet is a really great opportunity for children! I took ballet as a child, I started at 3 years of age too, and loved it so much! It's both a cultural and enjoyable experience! You should try finding lessons at your local community center, that's where I started. Then if your daughter wants to become more serious about dance I'm sure the community center instructor will be able to inform you of ballet schools local to you. Good luck!

How exciting! My 5 yr old has been in dance for 1 year now and my 3 yr old just joined! Love it! Our local YMCA has classes a couple times a week ages start at 3. I originally signed my oldest up at a Ballet School however their class times did not work for me, also they were very strict it seems. I wanted her experience to be fun! Right now both of my daughters are in a class called Creative Movement and they are learning the steps and postures in a fun atmosphere at age 6 they then move on to the classes they choose such as Ballet, Tap, Jazz ect. Ask other parents from your hometown what they think about the different schools :)

I am not sure if I have your location correct, but I have listed a few sites to get you started. Also, I do not know how far away it is from you. You may try contacting your local parks and recreation, community theatre and centers, as well as asking at the pre-school and nursery schools.
Dancing is a wonderful idea for your daughter, whether it be beginning ballet or through a creative movement class. Both will develop coordination and balance, discipline and creativity. Smiles!

That's great that she's getting into ballet. Dance is a great outlet for kids, plus is fun. I'd look into any local community centers, those generally have beginning ballet classes. From there, I'd look in the phone book for dance studios nearby. Good luck finding lessons.

look at yell.com/yellow pages. Browse the dance schools category in your area or type in ballet and your area. you should get something useful.
I don't know that area but this was the only one that came up this time. you could try widening the search etc.

Find out if your community has a community center that hires teachers, of all kinds, including dancing, that usually lasts for a few weeks. They usually start with toddler exercises involving stretching to limber them up for practice. Four of my seven grandchildren has taken lessons....reasonable price. I hope this has helped you in some way. i have been there with no car, and it it's not good. And maybe you can arrange to car-pool with another ballet parent.

You could try looking in the local Phonebook or asking at your town hall or whatever they are called. Really happy for your daughter, make sure she sticks with it as ballet gets really fun.

go to your public library and get a free tape of a beginers class ...you can learn the basics from that or even from a good book of terminology...
If it were me in your shoes i would prefer creative dance for her age... she will have fun dancing freely to music and using props and stuff. there is time to learn ballet when she is about 5-7 if she shows an interest.
