I was hit by a semi driver who ran a stop sign and all i got from it was carpol tunnel syndrom. My insurance provider sent me to one of their docotors where it was proven to be caused by the accident, but it gets worse as time goes on and now I am off work and facing surgery or perminit nerve damage...can I still go back on the claim after it's been 10 years?

Generally not.

Most jurisdictions set limits for how long after an incident a suit may be filed. For personal injury, that's usually in the 2-4 year range from the time when the injuries occurred or were discovered.

That's the loophole. If there was no way to discover the injuries prior to a couple years ago, you might have a shot. Getting worse over time doesn't count, however.

The above is general legal theory. Consult an attorney licensed in your state for a definitive answer.

Sorry No! I feel for you, I am in the same position as you. I got into an accident over 10 years ago, Had 2 bulging disks. Now one of the bulging disks through the years got worse and it is now a bad herniated disk! They also found that I have 3 degenerated disks in a row. The accident could of started the progress! I am unable to work. Good Luck!

Statute of limitations - typically it is 3 years! Sorry but you are out of luck!

If someone waits 10 YEARS it must not really be a problem and other things must have contributed to the problem.

3 years from the date of the accident to file suit. Unless you have a pending case going against him then you have no grounds.
