I have been late a few times at my previous job of 16 yrs about 1hr or so I think but I made the hours up to them as I worked security where we relieved each other at posts.

The last time I was late-- I was supposed to be at a meeting at one of my schools I go to , and forgot my briefcase at home --I called and told them I would be late so I could go back to get it.
I was about 1/2 hour late but it worked out ok.

Three hours I think. But only because I wrecked my car. But usually it's just a few minutes.
