I am having my u/s tomorrow and gonna find out the sex if baby cooperates..i was wondering if drinking oj before going in will help to see the sex better? I have heard that drinking orange juice before the u/s will get the baby moving and will get a better look..is this true or is it best to not do anything?

My Ultrasound directions always said to drink lots of water before going in. So....drink lots of water and then drink a glass of OJ right before leaving for the appointment. Nothing wrong with it....it's JUICE!! Worth a shot, anyway, right?

Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

It can help, lots of natural sugar in there, baby may move around more. Although sometimes the little buggers just want to make you wait - I'm convinced they know something is going on and refuse to be a part of it. My daughter was like that. 4 ultrasounds and she made sure we were left with no idea what she would be. Would have been a surprise when she was born except I knew she was a girl already from her attitude! Congrats and good luck!

never heard the orange juice trick! if your baby is already active, drinking something to make him/her MORE active might actually be a bad thing for the ultrasound! Too much movement can almost be just as bad as too little movement sometimes. I mean..im not a doctor, im just assuming! If you drink a lot of water before you go in i know that can push your uterus up farther (or something like that..im pretty sure thats what it does) becuase the bladder expands. That can make things a little easier to see. Good luck!! Congrats on your little prince or princess.

I am on my 5 th pregnancy. I never heard that one. I do know that oj makes them move more. So he / she may not be sleeping and balled up. It is worth a shot. I am 20 wks 4 days. I just found out this week I am finally getting my girls. I have had 9 ultrasounds. found out one Monday and found out the other Tuesday. I am having to go to two doctors. I have four boys and pregnat with twins. My 1st son never showed. When he was born was when I found out. I hope you find out. Good luck!

I'm 18 weeks and 5 days with my second child. I also go tomorrow for my u/s. I was always told to drink something sweet before the u/s. But with my first pregnancy it didn't work we didn't find out until 28 weeks that we were going to have a little girl. Good luck!!

Well, when I had my u/s done I didn't do anything prior to it. I had a feeling that I was going to have a baby boy and the u/s was right. I've heard that if you crave meet a lot you are going to have a boy and if you crave a lot of sugars you are going to have a girl. I'm not too sure though when I was pregnant I was craving a lot of chili cheese fires. Good luck.

anything you eat or drink with a lot of sugar in it will cause the baby to move around, but that won't necessarily have anything to do with being able to see the sex better.

you do need to have a full bladder though, the liquid in your bladder helps to transmit the waves from the ultrasound and make a better picture!

Good luck!

hhhmmmm... I particularly were pregnant 4 cases and that i in no way been informed to drink water before hand and there became in no way a issue seeing the toddler. in truth the first issue I had to do at each and each appt became my urine try so as that they were continuously very conscious that I had a freshly emptied bladder. i'm no longer particular the cost of having an finished bladder. i imagine it truly is un neccessary. so some distance as getting the toddler to flow inspite of the truth that, you dont truly like it to flow lots or they wont manage to concentration in lengthy sufficient to inform before it flips again. only relax and that i wager the toddler will be transferring sufficient to inform. It doesnt take a lot. Its only positioning. only wish that the aspects arent blocked my a leg or the chord.
