A prime number is a whole number that can not be divided evenly by any other whole number (except the number 1).
If you can divide 67 by something else and end up with a whole number, it isn't a prime. If you can't, it is.

tip ... if its not its divisible by something other than 1 and 67

so it has factors, and one of the can not be larger than sqrt 67
8*8 = 64, so one of the factors must be no more than 8
so you only have to ask if its divisible by 2,3,5 or 7

it's not, so its prime

yes the numbers which can not be divided by 2 are prime numbers. they have only factors 1 and themselves
