Don't use any lube if you don't have to. That will be the safest.

Personal lubricants that contiain spermicide are labelled that way-they generally contain the spermicide Nonoxynol-9, which many people react badly to. Sperm will survive best in your body when they have fertile cervical mucous. Most lubrcants don't mimic that environment though-chemically, they're not good places for sperm to survive. Tha'ts why so many people recommend using Pre-Seed-it's designed and formulated to mimic healthy, fertile cervical mucous, and so is often recommended for women who are trying to concieve.

Many lubricants do contain spermicide. Most lubricants (including KY Jelly) do not allow sperms to move as well as your own fluid (or Pre-Seed) does, which lowers the chance of conception. Pre-Seed is specifically designed for couples who are trying to conceive. This website has info on pre-seed.

This website covers a study that has specifics and numbers, percents, etc. of KY Jelly, Pre-Seed, and other lubricants.
