Only hear sound when Im in a chat room HELP!?

Question

I dont even hear sound on windows media player or launchcast radio or in any games unless I sign into and stay in a chat room does anyone anye at all know what is going on and how to fix it?

nothing is muted either

Maybe you set the media player to mute?
(media player has its own volume settings, look for the loudspeaker symbol in the player and the slide next to it)

EDIT : Nothings muted, hmmm.what player is used for launchcast radio?Is the sound in chat rooms coming from the boxes or the internal PC speaker?
See, we need to find the difference between that chat room sound and all other situations where there should be sound, but isn't.

yeah probably
