The soul is just a principle of life. So everything alive has some sort of a soul.
A soul doesnt mean a Ghost that comes out of a guy when he dies. They are not the same.
So if your pet lose his life, it should lose its mortal soul as well. Why? cos its dead.
But the soul is not bound by the body. Unlike a ghost. Its just a life principle. It has no bounds.
Our rational souls are not mortal and can "live" on.

I feel that they do. I have had dreams of past pets playing amongst themselves, showing how happy they are where they are.
I have seen a couple of the souls leave as the bodies die. I didn't see it on all of my dogs but the ones I was really close to, the ones that I had really bonded with.
Out of my mind? I don't really think so. I see things that others don't. I just know .................

From what I understand from folks who's almost crossed over, they say they saw their dogs etc.
