I play linebacker for my high school football team and I am finally a senior and can pick my own number. I started both my soph and jr years with the #28, but I am not really feeling that anymore. Throw out some numbers that would look good on a short 5'10 linebacker like myself.

Most high school football teams have a certain number set that players can pick from. For example: Lower numbers from 1-14 or so are QB, 15-40s are RB. 50s are LB, down lineman are usually in the 60-70s, WR tend to be 80s. Defensive lineman are either 60-70 or 90s. DBs usually pick the numbers in the 20s.

I was RB and OLB and wore 35 for four years. I was also about the same height as you.

Some organizations will not care what number you pick, but you will most likely have to stay away from lineman numbers unless they have you play down lineman as well.

There is alot of good numbers out there.
What I would do is pick the numbers that you like the most and write them down on a piece of paper. Throw the numbers in to a bowl and let someone pick one out for you. The first one that they draw would be the number for the year.
Better yet just get the number that you was born in ( the last 2 digits of course)

56!! Lawrence Taylor wore that number!! Al Wilson of the Denver Broncos wears that number!! One of the best linebackers in the NFL right now!! If I played linebacker that's the number I would get. Good luck dogg!!

Hope this helped!

Honestly i think you should be #5. I know most people use it at a QB, HB, or WR position but if its available pick it up. Its almost original and you probably wont see alot with that number. If not then go with 54. Alot of good LB's with that #. (Brian Urlacher)

Go with 99 if you want to intimidate the other team. Although, if I were playing LB, then I would go with 56, the number of Lawrence Taylor, the best defensive player ever.
Im going to go with 7 when I play, although I play WR/Return. Its my favorite Ohio State player, Ted Ginn's number.

Well, if your not feeling your old number anymore, don't wear it, you need to be proud of your number and it needs to feel good. As far as suggestions, I would say 54, 43, or 36.
Hope this helps

I'd go with 95. The 90s are always tied to DLs. It'll intimidate the the QB if he thinks you can hit him like a DE.
