Size 5 isn't skinny its NORMAL that is what healthy people should be i am a 0 and at 5'6 i am on the heavier side. I do feel for those people who cant help being overweight because they probably got it in their genes, but people like me work hard to look good and abercrombie and hollister may just be trying to promote a healthy image.
p.s. AE jeans go up to a size 18 reg.

Lol, that's great because I happen to be a size 0 (not in those stores, but others). I do NOT like abercrombie and hollister...racist, skintight, just plain annoying. Everyone's wearing the same thing...Ugh I guess I''ll have to buy the newest fashion there. This is absurd!
*sigh*

But hey, that's how people make money, right?

I completely agree.
Did you also know that you are probably actually around a size twelve?
Stores use what is called "vanity" sizing. Those who sew (like me) know that these sized are unregulated,, and probably aren't even the same size from store to store.
Are you a size 5 in one brand, and something else in another? This is due to unregulated sizing.
Because we like to think of ourselves as skinnier, the companies know We are more likely to buy something if it has a 'smaller' size.
Hence, we now have negative sizes in some brands.
However, patterns for sewing are still in the standardized sizing.
For example, in most name brands, I'm a size nine...in sewing patterns, I'm a size 14/16.
Just thought you'd like to know =D

Edit: Do not listen to that girl up there who told you to lose weight..I just did my senior paper over anorexia, so I'm all pumped up about this.
Girls, you are perfect the way you are...unless a doctor tells you otherwise. Do NOT let anyone else judge you. Not an ignorant girl, guy, or a designer brand.
Love YOURSELF, and tell anyone else to... do something bad to themselves.

Your size 5 is yesterday's size 10. In the 70's I wore a size 12 pants, today (same size/weight) and I wear size 6.

They ARE selling bigger sizes, they are disguised by an untrue size label. Yesterday's 18 is now today's 12.

I agree. I'm an 8 and sometimes it's hard for me to get into the clothes at these stores. They should definitely make more sizes , they could make a lot more money.

I totally agree. Everyone is different in size. It just isn't fair for those girls who are a little larger, not to be able to buy and wear the same thing that everyone else is wearing. It doesn't matter your size, it is what you feel good in and as long as it is tasteful and age and size appropriate, I say go for it.

I feel what you are saying, but do we really want obese woman walking around in hot pants????? ha ha ha just kidding. I do thin that more stores should carry more "hotter" fashions in their stores, truthfully there are more larger woman out there (size 12 and up) than smaller. Whenever I go shopping they are always out of my size,(14) but have a ton of size 3's in stock...

i do agree yet i also think the marketers know that bigger people do not feel that comfortable in their own skin, so they won't go out a buy cute little tops, short shorts, mini skirts and stuff like that so although it's not really fair i think the business world knows a thing or two and just wants to make money and i think the size 5 girls are working out just fine and making them enough profit

I agree 100%. They should because some women aren't that fat and aren't that skinny so I think so too. I am a size 2. (I really got to gain some weight!)
