I need to get full custody of my 12 mos. old baby, i'm a custodian parent. The father is not responsilble, has alcohol problems and was/is drug addict. Also is still not paying child support (case is in court). The father wasn't around since the baby was born and didn't see the child for last 3 mos. there's no visitation right scheduled so far. I will agree to supervised visits either by myself or social worker. What do i need to do to get full custody? how difficult it will be to get it? Also i would like to get order of protection.

you can go to childrens services and tell them of his drug/alcohol abuse or whatever all of the reasons are that you think you should have custody and he should not

you can also contact legal aid in some areas, this provides free or low cost legal service to help out with attorney fees

you go to the courthouse to file for a protection order, ususally to the prosecutor's office

Your pal desires to bypass right down to her County Courthouse and talk with the clerk of the relations courtroom about making a professional se (on her own behalf) action for pendente lite (meantime, or the time period between separation and divorce) alleviation (infant and probable spousal help depending upon the period of the marriage). She must have data of the date of separation, as her action might want to request help retroactive to that date. She also needs to confirm a thanks to request that any quantities presented for spousal/infant help be taken from his paycheck and paid to the community help series unit. The clerk is also able to refer her to a functional divorce criminal professional who will represent her and finally have her ex husband pay his expenditures as component of the marital settlement settlement.
