Alligators/Caiman: 2 subfamilies =
Subfamily Diplocynodontinae (alligators):
has 12 extinct genra, 1 genra with living species
Genus Alligator has 4 extinct species and 2 living: (a. mississippiensis) American Alligator and (a. sinensis) the Chinese Alligator.
*Amiercan's range is southern U.S. and the Chinese lives in the Yangtze river in China.

Subfamily Caimaninae (caiman):
5 extinct genra, 3 living genra
There are 5living species of caiman:Cuvier's Dwarf, Smooth-fronted, yacare, broad-snouted, black, and spectacled (which has two subspecies)
*Caiman are found in central and south america.

Crocodiles:
one extinct species in the subfamily Mekosuchinae
the genus Euthecodon of the subfamily Crocodyliane is extinct
13 living species in 2 genra in the subfamily Crocodyliane includind animals like the nile croc, slender-snouted, freshies, philippine, saltwater, cuban, and Siamese crocodiles.
*Crocodiles live throughout the tropics in Africa, Asia, the Americas (Mexico and south with the exception of a very small population in Florida), and Australia.

Gharial (Family Crocodylidae; subfamily Tomistominae): 9 extinct genra, one living = the False or Malayan gharial
* found in Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

Don't hold me to this 100%, but i'm pretty darn close. The only problems in the numbers should arise from disputes in dna research.
Hope this helps.

Alligators are North American species. Related species like Caimans live in South America.

Crocodiles are only found in Africa, Asia and Australia.

I couldn't tell you exactly how many species there are in total, but a Google search should turn up the right answers for you pretty quickly.
