Most really good movies worth watching that make u think are crafted to affect your emotions in some ways, the best movies do both, and those are what i prefer, when i dont want to think about a movie, i watch senseless violence, or simple comedy

I would rather watch movie that requires a little thinking, however I hate a movie that ends incomplete or has too many potential ending and you have to come up with a conclusion, those are just un-filling and a waste of my time.

I have the rest of the day to think (like at work), so I'd rather watch a movie that makes me feel. Gives me a chance to let it all out.

Thinking and feeling are interwoven. There are so many movies that do that to people. The Color Purple. Terms of Endearment. Rainman. Spotless Mind.

A lot of people don't want to feel or think or be reminded so they prefer mindless entertainment. Emotions are scary to a lot of people.

I like movies that stimulate my mind - they are rare to find! Shadowlands with Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger was excellent in that it makes you think and it's very moving!!
Deja Vu with Denziel Washington did both too.
