Some vinegar in the wash will set the color too but I still would not wash them with anything else for the first few times they are washed.

I know it is a pain, but towels need to only be washed with towels anyway!

The first time you wash the towels, wash them with other colors in cold water. After you wash them 4 or more times, they should not bleed onto your other clothes, even the light colored ones.

Unless they are the same color I wouldn't. I would take the towel and wash it by hand in warm water or run it through warm water and see if the color comes out . Then you will know for sure.

To keep ANY colors from bleeding place salt in the washing machine! Table salt!! About 1/4 cup per laundry load works! I had my doubts, but it seriously works. Also helps your reds not fade as fast! It sets the color VERY well!

Yes, the other color is fine and you can also wash them in cold water to reduce the bleeding.

If they are dark colored, you can wash them with other dark colored clothes, just be sure to wash in COLD! If you want to be extra safe, wash them alone.

I would suggest...no.
I understand that it may be a waste of water, but chemicals in the dye may make the other items in your wash go funky.
Wash the towels seperately in their first wash.
