You slaves to fashion, who look in the fashion mags every week to see what's "in" and what's "out", I hope you realize you are being manipulated into spending fortunes for no better reason than some famous idiot's name is on the tag. I'm a jeans(Levis) and T-shirt man myself.

and to the one who slammed me as a hypocrite for specifying Levis, the intent there was to show that it WASN'T a designer label, at least not in the same sense as some others.

smart you!
i work in the fashion industry...and yes..the " game"
of fashion & cosmetics is to get many to part with money..and most do....
if people really knew the mark-up on prices...
they'd never shop in a department store again.
i bet you look amazing in your jeans & t shirt......
just to let you know..most of us in fashion do wear
jeans & t shirts to work..everyday.

I guess some people do, do that. but i'm not one of those I know how to dress well without spening a fortune, you don't have to buy what a seleb buys to look fashionable they have tons of money and for them a couple of thousand on a top it's much to them. There are many clothing shops that stock on great clothes that are in fashion without the price tag but some girls have to have what all the pop stars are wearing, they are the ones who will end up broke.

I wear what I find cute and if I find something in a magazine that I absolutely thing is the most adorable thing yeah I buy it sometimes it has a "name" on it but sometimes its not about the name its about the indivudiality of the clothes. People spend years of their time trying to be different with their clothes and just because they put their name on the tag doesn't mean we are all being screwed over.

the thing you don't seem to understand is that fashion is manipulative to us but what do you like and seen that way you are being manipulated by your hobbies too. some people like cars others travelling and I love shopping there's nothing wrong with tha t so instead of judging people you should realize that you only live once and if you are comfortable in your levi's well next time you put them on you can imagine all the underage underpaid and overworked slaves that sewed them together....ignorance is very sad.....at least the people putting my designer clothes together can pay there mortgages with their income.....

Yeah, but it's because people have something that gets their attention throughout their life. Some people have religion centered, and many have fashion. Christ is my everything, and the Bible even told us that we should be careful not to be caught up and obsessed with fashion- especially women and girls.

Anyways, I'm with you on this one. Unless you're going to model or something, you really shouldn't have your life centered around fashion. There really isn't a goal.

Yep. That's why I screw them right back and pay like 5 bucks for their 150.00 dresses at Goodwill. I used to work for Nordstrom so I know the name brands. I scour the racks for the "mega" brands. I love getting a deal. And yes...I look good in jeans and a t-shirt as well. Thanks for your post.

I do realize this also and laugh at all the girls who are going into debt while some designer lives off their pathetic, desperate shopping sprees.

Oh, well. There have to be fools in order for their to be rich people. So keep on shopping shallow, dumb chicks.

Haha, I like how you mentioned the brand you wear in there. :)

In any case I don't see how you can conclude that people who knowingly choose to buy things they don't need are being "screwed over," as if someone else is making them do it. If people didn't look at magazines they'd just look at eachother.

And the idea that you're being "screwed over" just because you're being advertised to would apply to pretty much every single product in existence.

I buy most of my clothes at thrift shops; spending a fortune on clothes is not one of my priorities.
