I've got a hamster called Bernard. Maybe, he's a Bernadette!

If it's past a few months old, if it's a he, his balls will be unmistakable. Best thing you can do is flip it over, if you see a hole and a spot, it's a boy that just hasn't developed his package yet. If you just see the crapper hole, it's a girl... and eventually she'll show her nursing spots where her organs will grow.

Hiya, Take your hamster to the pet shop they should be able to tell you. But if not if you turn your hamster upside down, and where it's little thing is if there is a big gap to the next bit its a boy if there is not much of a gap it's a girl. Hope you understand this. Good Luck.

Hamsterific.com has a diagram that shows you the differences. A picture is easier to go by if the hamster is very young and the male organs haven't yet appeared. Usually by 3-4 months the males are noticible.

Male hamsters testicles are visible from about 6 months old they create a large lump at the tail area. If your hamster is younger than this turn it gently upside down and look at its sex organs. there should be 2 small holes. If they are close together then it is a female, if they are far apart then it is a male.

This really is quite easy. Turn your hamster over so that the belly faces you.
If Bernard's rear is shaped to a "V" point at the tail he is a she.
If Bernard's rear is shaped like a "U" then he's a male.

Here is a demonstration of what I am telling you: http://www.hamsterific.com/HamsterUniversity/SexingHamsters.html

believe me,if it's a male you'l know because he'll have a great big hairy pair of knackers! It all depends on the age,if it's a couple of weeks old,you wont see any sexual organs. If you're unsure, get your vet to sex it.

Little boys have two ... er... bolloc..... er .... balls. That's syrian hamsters. Harder to sex those little russian hamsters though - you have to go by the shape of their back end really.
