Yes, it is okay to leave the USB Flash Drive plugged in when you're not using it. It'll just wait for you to use it. It won't do anything to your files that you have on it.

Don't sweat it! haha i had one for over a year (i lost it a month ago *tear*) and the only thing i believe would kill a flash drive would be overheating of the LED light in the back, and since that's nearly impossible, hahah your in the clear! o, and someone earlier said the click the "safely remove hardware" button... i NEVER did this with my old one, and nothing ever happened, so you don't have to do that either.

yes, but be sure to "Safely remove hardware" by clicking on the USB icon in the lower right corner of the toolbar!!

your pc will see it as a external drive. i would suggest taking it out until its next use. if you leave it in it tries to boot from that drive as well as the floppy and cd drive. just takes longer usaly to boot up. and if you leave it in and you get a virus, it will hide on it as well.
good luck

Yes, unless there are others that use the computer, because they might delete your stuff by accident.

I don't think it would harm it, but I wouldn;t do it. When I;m done using mine I unplug them and put them away on my desk.
