NO, St George is the English saint, several saints are shared, most saints come from a very early Welsh King, (King Brychan of South Wales) he had several children, the majority became saints, although George is not one of his.
I like the Saints for the UK, St Patrick for Ireland, St David for Wales, St. Piran for Cornwall and St Andrew for Scotland plus St George for England.
Every year the Scout and Guiding units celebrate St George, if it was made a national holiday, more people would be aware of our Saint.

Saint George I have never met so can't say if his character warrents a saintship.
Yet he could be given a peerage.
