What it means is that you need to have a DVD burning program installed. One should have come with your DVD drive, but usually one has to install it. If you can't find the disk that came with the DVD drive, then 'PowerDVD' is a good one to use, but it isn't free. You can try a free one here: http://www.cdburnerxp.se/
The DVD buring program will install the needed DVD codecs that will enable the DVD portion of your drive.
