What do mean, can the democrats do anything?
Haven't you been paying attention? They recently passed a non binding resolution and are presently working on a proposal for immediate troop withdrawal - of course, the authors of this draft know it doesn't mean a damned thing - but, hey, neither did the first resolution - and that didn't slow their political grandstanding down any.
Ummmm - come to think of it, you're right - all talk and no effective action.

If it was your 18 yr old brother or sister would it hurt you 18 yrs old just old enough to leave home never expecting to be on the front lines so it is the Dem and Rep working together I am sure it hurts the libs be fare it would hurt you too

you have presented a very interesting point of view here - and one that is very very valuable and instructive.
to you, it seems, the continuation of the war is something to do solely because it will irritate liberals and not because it is a just or even logical cause.
i think the sooner those who think like you are drummed out of our govt, the better.

they know that on the issue of the war they are wrong, and they fear what would happen when they are proven so. so all they do is pose and bluster and blame W for everything with out ever taking a true difinitive stand, hoping it will be solved before they are forced to do anything.

the Democrats are trying to take action......and most of the legislation will be vetoed by Bush.
Higher minimum wage, interest free student loans, etc.
