Hey I'm a liberal living in a Red State and I can tell you we certainly are not envious of California, New York, or New England. Give us a break already. You live in super congestion with too much pollution, too many people, and your housing prices are absolutely absurd. Dude we are very happy with our 15 minute commutes to work, our 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 3 car garage, 2900 sq. ft. all brick houses that cost $230,000K complete with fresh air and a sense of uniqueness.
There has never been a day that I ever wanted to live in California, New York or New England. You folks need to get out and see the rest of the country. It's not like what you see on TV.
Better yet, stay where you are...we don't want you to mess up our good thing.

I thought liberals were supposed to be open-minded. Hmmm...I live in Georgia and find lots of interesting things here. For instance, there are archeological digs in Indian settlements. There are plenty of Civil War battlefields where decisive moments in history took place. North of Atlanta, near Cartersville, there are great geologic finds. In the mountains, I go mountain biking most weekends; the natural beauty is superb.
If you were actually open-minded, you would have to agree that people can lead interesting lives in other places even if those interests are not yours.
Have you ever been hiking in Montana and Idaho? Have you ever climbed a mountain in Colorado? Look, I love New York City (with a Republican Mayor and Governor), but my interests span far beyond urban Bohemia, even though I find most of it to be nothing more than a pretentious pose. I don't think there is a single work of art in MOMA, the Frick or the Guggenheim which can compare to the beauty of Yellowstone or the Great Smokey Mountains.
I think most Red-Staters would agree with me on that.

Did you know that because of the electoral vote Ca was a blue state, not the popular vote. If the popular vote in the 2004 elections decided the states color CA would have been red.........................hmmmmmmmmmmm something to think about. Sometimes the loudest most obnoxious voices are not the silent mature majority.

Are you stupid enough to believe that people who are making cars for Toyota, honda, BMW and Mercedes in TX, AL, NC, TN are envious of the high unemployment and crappy cars made in Michigan?>
