a variety for all: yuri, yaoi, shounen-ai, shoujo-ai, (I'm not sure if hentai should be available, although it's really similar to yuri and yaoi, but with a heterosexual preference). even if you don't like it, i really wouldn't put personal experience or opinions to the mangas, also because your asking people what kind of manga they would like. Because, your opinion is yours, so keep it to yourself, but rather let everyone else decide on their own.. or sumthing. lol
if i were you, i would make the group a collector of mangas from other groups if you can't scanlate. get a bunch of team members to act as scouter, those who find any new manga and submit it in the group-- then it's a hugeeee community! :D
it's so annoying to go from one group to another just to get the manga you want, let's say you're interested in shoujo and shounen mangas, but one group only has shoujo and the other is just shounen-- its just way too typical. I rather have it in one place :O
and it shouldn't just be japanese manga, it should also be from other places as well! :O ... there are korean mangas, american graphic novels, and so much more.. seem like a huge job, but oh well XD.. have fun being busy! cuz that's what most manga groups are all about :D
