I went out the other day and came back home convinced that 99% of the people should be under treatment.

Depends how you classify 'psychological issues'. Everyone has their issues due to the environments they were bought up in, things they've seen/heard etc. I have heard that it's statistically 1 in 4 people who will experience mental health problems at some point in their lives; a worrying stat I have to say.

I've heard the statistic to be 8 out of 10 people, and that's probably more realistic. Of course, this includes things like OCD and other minor issues. I'd say 80% is about right from what I see. It doesn't mean everyone is crazy, just a part of who most people are...If everyone was "normal" it sure would be boring having human interaction.

It depends on your definition of a psychological issue. Mental illness is probably present in 2 out of every 5 people. Dysfunction is probably in 4 out of every 5 people.

Call me cynical but I suspect that we have all been inured into thinking we have psychological problems to keep us under control - it is easier to manipulate the thinking of a person who feels psychologically vulnerable than a stronger, more centred person.

The self-assessment tests they bombard us with in magazines and even counsellor's offices are nothing more than subjective nonsense that have little scientific or medical relevance and encourage us to dwell on our negative rather than positive feelings.

I urge you to stop swallowing this psychobabble claptrap hook, line and sinker! Stop navel-gazing and start observing what's going on in the world around you - with particular focus on our politicians and lawmakers ...

Much higher, everyone carries baggage of some sort due to their past, beliefs or experiences. Is it considered clinically psychotic behaviors, probably not.

Depends what one considers a psychological issue.

Everyone has a different view of life because of how they were raised and the environment they were raised in. Deep down, I think everyone has their issues, even those who seem the most normal.
