find out what he really likes and do that for him. You have to mention what type of dad he is for you to get specifics. I'm a dad and i'd want my kids to surprise me with a bundle of dvd's cause i like watching movies. then they would have to give me some time to myself so i can watch the movies. lol

what does he like? is he into football/baseball etc. Does he like to cook? Is he a computer geek? what does he do for work? what hobbies does he have. get him something that he will use either at work or in doing a hobby. something unique to his likes.

if you;re not really close to him and don't really know what his likes are, a gift certificate works well to a store that he would go to for anything..like Wal Mart.

If you are short on cash, make him a photo collage of you and him from the time you were a baby to now. Use construction paper and tape or glue and get an inexpensive collage frame at the dollar stores for like five bucks. write on the construction paper your memory of that time depicted in the photos. be funny and creative. use stickers if you have them. He'll love it cause it came from the heart and is all about him and his little girl. daddy's love that stuff.
