I had one in for 3 yrs then another in for just 1. The 1st one was brilliant & I didn't have a period for the whole time but a few months after having the 2nd one I was spotting all the time & had it removed, I've now been on the pill for 6 months & my periods are still not normal, if I get one at all. I'd think hard about this as at first it is good but the long term effects aren't so good!!

I have had one for 3 years now, and just about to get another as I love it so much.
It didn't hurt having it done, but was maybe a tiny bit sore for a few days after, but not bad at all.
I had no periods for the first year, then they have slowly returned to normal over the last 2 years, but maybe a little lighter than before, with less cramps too.
Enjoy it honey, they are great.

I have had this for year now, it doesn't hurt to have it inserted in your arm, they give you local anaesthetic but it is uncomfortable. Your periods are very rare after that and only last a day or so! You have to have it replaced every 3 years. Good Luck

I had one put in in January. I love it so far. My periods are very very light and last only 2-3 days at the most. I love it. Plus you dont even feel it being put in your arm. The most pain that I had after insertion is light bruising... no biggie at all!!!
