There is no set starting rate, it is whatever you can negotiate. Find yourself a booking agent. Or if you want to start somewhere a lot of comedy clubs have open mike sessions, where you can try your routine out, but beware they have tough audiences, but it gives you a break through. Good luck!

The starting rate is usually zero, maybe for tips at a small club. Then you might be able to get a gig at a comedy club and make fifty bucks or so. Good luck.

you should ask how you get in the door and have opportunity to show what you can do
and wait to see if they allow you back in.
