Let's not take our eye off the fact that he was lying to cover up who leaked Valerie Plame's CIA status.
Who do you think he was protecting?
Why isn't Fitzgerald going after those guilty of this leak?
Remember Bush stated he wanted names to prosecute and hold accountable for leaking a CIA agents name!!!

Oh come on...He was trying to cover for his boss. Happens everyday in this country. A subordinate will try to make his superior look good and the superior will stab the poor bastid in the back in a heartbeat...happens everywhere from McDonald's to WalMart to IBM to our wonderful government...When is this country going to smarten up and value leadership over butt kissing.

You are incorrect in your assumption. It has already been revealed who leaked the name, and it had nothing to do with the Bush Admin. There was nothing to lie about as far as that goes. The jury came to an incorrect conclusion imo but at any rate, this had nothing to do the leak of Plame's identity, this was a trial on a completely seperate matter. He was essentially found guilty of a non-crime.

Do you even know what the lie was? What he was convicted for lying about was whether or not he recalled telling someone something. Man that's a 25 year sentence crime in my book.
There was no leak that's why.

Hey he's a politician and it's CYOA.
He knew that Clinton got away with lying to cover up his having sex with his AID (s) in the Oval Office so he figured that "what the heck", forgetting something was no big deal.
