First of all, don't be silly. Virtually every online money making opportunity in existance involves building and promoting a downline via referrals. There's no getting around it, if you're going to be involved in the huge assortment of money making opportunities online, then you're going to have to accept the fact that referrals are a *huge* part of how everything works.

Yes, there is. However, it is not as easy as is typically stated in most spammy emails or junk sites.

The basic keys to making any money online revolve around:

1. A website with good content - original work, articles, documents.

2. Getting quality traffic to the site.

3. Placing ads on the site.

4. Selling yours or someone else's products.

There is no easy formula for doing all of these things - the key is to follow your own passions and get quality information out there on the topics you love. If you try to create an online site just to make money you will probably fail. If you create something you truly care about then you'll find that you can start building revenue because there are others out there that care as much as you do about it.

The easiest way to start is to use Blogger to create your site for free - no hosting or cost to start up. You can even mock up Blogger to act like a regular web site. Just make sure you keep building it out as much as you can.

anyway the point is that your business has to be YOUR business. If you get it out of a box, you'll grow tired of it.

The other day I bought a 3G/GPRS signal booster for a couple of tenners from ebay. There only seems to be one guy selling them. Brilliant product. If some idea like that grabs you, that's your business.
