Unless the girl completely trusts the guy, they should go dutch. If the guy pays, he'll think that the girl should owe him something, and that could turn out nasty.

I pay my own..that way if he orders something more expensive I am not paying for part of his. I love him, but I don't love him that much.

early in the relationship I PAY EVERY time...as it intensifies it's nice to split expenses allows more nights out witout breaking either partner
