Because if they attack it on political grounds, they never have to address the merits of the issue on scientific grounds.

It keeps the dicussion emotional, not scientific, which makes it easier to spin.

Whoa,I never said it doesnt exist,I said it is not a manmade event. We know during the Dark ages, the Earth's mean temperature was lower,it fluctuates with the amount of solar energy produced by the Sun which is never a constant, but everchanging fact(example Mars caps are melting too) I do beleive that it became political by the left because its all about believe us or else your industrialist pig.As a Republican I look at the issue and see through the bull, and whos to gain from it,who gets money from it,and who gains power from it,I scoff at the idea of saving electricity(light bulbs etc) because if its not used it cant be saved(they dont store excess electricity in a bank(its discarded)...and as you say " it cant be stopped,so why pour money and excessive resources into something "I agree" cant be done by us! Its arrogant to think we wield such power, but thats what they(the global warming doomsayers) really want POWER!

Republicans do NOT think Global warming is political. They do NOT even deny that Global warming exists, because to do so would be stupid. The planet is clearly warming up. Duh, that is how ICE AGES end, the world warms up!
Republicans merely point out that there is little evidence that humans are the cause of the warming and it would be senseless to ruin the economy of the USA to tilt at the Global warming windmill. Especially, when China, India, and the rest of the world is NOT doing anything to reduce their carbon usage.
Likewise, they point out that Global warming creates MORE arable soil with which to grow crops to feed the worlds increasing population.

The Republicans-Neocons-exDixiecrats have spent the past 40+ years learning what folks knee jerk responses are so they can play them like a banjo, how else do you think they get folks to vote against their self interests.

I love the whole sticking fingers in your ears thing that folks do about global climate change. And the misinformation, goodness.

I can remember when the republicans were saying there was no hole in the ozone layer, that DDT was safe, that cars didn't need seat belts..........................

Al Gore doesn't say the earth will be destroyed, just life as we know it.

If you haven't seen the movie, An inconvenient Truth, how can you in good conscience criticize it?

Because we know that a thousand consensuses doesn't make something scientific and we read National Geographic.
Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human-induced—cause, according to one scientist's controversial theory.

It's not political, but the LEFT is making it political to facilitate a redistribution of wealth.

Kyoto is a joke, it allows the trading of pollution credits, and actually raises the amounts by which certain countries can pollute

Because it is.... or at least the "man caused" element is.... the "it can't be stopped" part of your question says it all... the ragging on about the evil US destroying the world is all politics.

Because it is. You are not so foolish as to believe that it actually exists, are you?
It doesn't. Cooling and warming are narural but the LIBS are trying to make you believe otherwise.
