I'm doing a project for English on Memoirs of a Geisha. Its a powerpoint and one of the slides has to be about the conflict, internal and external. I already have the internal one, and most of the external. I'm trying to list some of the things Hatsumomo did to Chiyo to try to ruin her chances of ever becoming a geisha. However, I'm drawing a complete blank. All I can remember is that Hatsumomo makes Chiyo practice her calligraphy on Mameha's kimono. I would really appreciate it if you could help me figure out some of the other things Hatsumomo did to Chiyo as a child or once she became Sayuri. Thank you in advance.

Thanks, but I mean what did Hatsumomo do to make it harder for Chiyo/Sayuri to become a geisha.

She spread a rumor that Sayuri was not a virgin to try and keep the creepy doctor guy from bidding on her.
Hatsumomo turned Pumpkin against her, kept Pumpkin from being friends with her.
She told terrible stories about her at whatever party Sayuri was at, something like how her breasts looked like an old women's and Hatsumomo kept showing up where ever Sayuri and her mentor where.
Hope this helps!

Do you remember the guy she gave the box too? Not the one that she met as a child and fell in love with, the one that tried to rape her, that was another way she tried to ruin her chances.
