I LOVE this question!
It is NOT fair OR right.
I don't like the way people justify taking money from hard working successful people and GIVING it to drug addicts, lazy people, and crack moms. We should have a FLAT tax that has everyone pay their fair share. WHY should I be taxed at 35% and someone else gets taxed at 20% - or even WORSE - the earned income credit!
We would still be paying MORE tax at our income but not at a higher and UNFAIR percentage.

NO it does not make it right, not one day not ever, it is wrong and we all need to learn right from wrong. The thing is that in certain extreme situations it is easy to overlook what is right and wrong.

So say for instance if my kids were starving I would steal if it was the last resort, there was no other way, and I had to do so, but that would not make it right, not today, not tomorrow, not the next day. The situations and circumstances might be used in the determination of the punishment, if I got caught.

People steal all the time they just don't look at it like that in many cases. When they overprice they are stealing, when they manipulate to rig the contract in their best interest they are stealing, when they use that second house as a tax write off they are stealing, but they don't look at it like that. So perception plays a role in everything.

A rich man will take a tax break stealing from the poor and yet deny the poor enough to get out of the trap, a poor man can misuse what they get thus stealing from others in that way, and yet in most cases it is the poor mans life that is being stolen because of the type of work they have to do, or the things that they have to do to get what they really need, and what that does to them.

It is a game in some cases, some people enjoy taking advantage of others and not getting caught. Still stealing is stealing, no matter who does it or how it is done, I think.

"Right" and "wrong" are either based on morality (which has nothing to do with law) or based relative to some objective.

If enough people want to steal, and make it so that stealing is not criminal, then it's legal. Which has nothing to do with morals, since morals are based on social and religious doctrines.

So, assuming it was legal, stealing would be right if it accomplished your goals, and wrong if it hindered your goals.

i don't know every poor person in the US but the ones i know (my family is poor) use the rich as an excuse. 'they need to take that money and give it to the poor'. they want to take money from those who worked their butt off(even though not every rich person did) and give it to them so they can waste it. blaming others is never going to help. it might sometimes be true but you have to move on and work 4 yrself.

No, but unfortunately it makes it right for the people who want to steal. The seed is already planted in their heads that its okay to steal. Every one else is doing it. The energy is too strong and the people themselves do not feel like they are doing any thing wrong. They confirm it to one another that it is okay to steal. None, if you are outnumbered which is usually the case. It is becoming worse in neighborhoods where a hand full of neighbors want to literally control the neighbors comings and goings. I live in such a neighborhood. I refuse to join the club. I have had some strange and creepy things done to me by my next door neighbors that I thought was very inappropriate and disrespectful. I would call the police. I live alone. I had some problems with my son bringing homeless people to my house. My son would do this all hours of the night, I would wake up and hear voices and it would scare the living daylights out of me. My husband passed away 10 years ago. I would call the police. The police would show up at my house very angry at me for calling. My next door neighbors were getting on the phone and telling the police officers that I was crazy. Nobody was in my house, not even my son. My son is quite a manipulator. He is quite good at it. The next door neighbors knew that too. They are just like my son only worse because they know better. I do not lie for my son. I love my son. I do not like his actions. My son is very bossy, nosey and he is an epileptic. My son was gone for 6 months. The next door neighbors tried to take over where my son left off. It shocked the living daylights out of me. My son would always say to me when he was losing the argument. I am so worried about you. I would tell him to shutup and to never talk to me like that again. The next door neighbors would hear us argue. The man told all of the neighbors that I was crazy. I have caught the neighbors next door peeking in my windows. eavesdropping outside my house. The wife was trying to drive me crazy . She would wait for her mail on my porch. I would find my lawn hose on. I asked her if she saw any one turn my hose on. I did not accuse her. She became very nasty to me and tells me that I should be glad some one is watering my lawn. I am not a nosey person. I do not get into other people's business . I do not know the new neighbors. I keep to myself. These next door neighbors turn the whole block of neighbors against me .. i wish to God I was making this up it would be easier to deal with. No, I would become just like my next door neighbors who by the way are sharp as tacks dirty dogs that are in their 70;s and 80s nosey controlling and winey people. I am a very well read person. I love to read and learn new things. I have a couple of Dr Phils books that I have read. One of Dr Phils books talks about couples and strategies that are used by these couples,. The one thing that comes to mind is the person that is complaining wants to control everything. I watch these old people who are predators by the way. My stepson was lured into my other neighbor's home who lives nextdoor to me on the opposite side by my neighbor's cousin who was a working girl. I was at work at the time. My boyfriend calls me and tells me to guess who is at the house and is covered in blood. He tells me that it is my stepson. My husbands first child. I go home for lunch. In the driveway I see my stepson who looks just like his dad who has a towel wrapped at the back of his head. The towel was covered with blood. My stepson was robbed and pistol whipped in the back of the head by 2 guys that were visiting my neighbor on the other side. My stepson told the whole neighborhood what happened. That is what you are supposed to do. The neighbor moved out a week later. The grandchildren move into the. I tell him about my stepson . The grandchildren tell me about the walls being splattered with blood. They are nice kids who have 2 pitbulls. The pitbulls get out and are in my backyard. The guy that lives up the street comes over with a baseball bat asking if those are my dogs.. I am afraid to go out of my house , My boyfriemd is not home from work yet. I call the police. The policeman comes 2 hours later. I go outside to show the policeman how the pittbulls are getting out under my fence. The dogs are snapping at us. I am scrared to death of pitbulls. The policeman is upset with me because I am afraid. I cannot understand why the police officer was so rude to me. Isn' t that how he makes his living? My boyfriend tells me. I do not know if i did the right thing by calling thepolice. I tell him not to worry, He did the right thing. a week or so goes by, I do not hear or see the pittbulls anymore. The house I live in was my parents home that I had just bought. The house was vacant for a year, My sister had the old couple mow the lawn, The old couple asked if they could store some extra wood, The man does beautiful work on his house and it shows. He does a good job. The mans wife goes to stay with a freind for a week or so. The kids tell me about the dogs going after the neighbor. The kids felt bad because th e dogs had to be put to sleep. They felt bad the old man was attacked by their dogs. The man never said a word about what happened with the pittbulls. Then he would have to explain what he was doing in my backyard. My boyfriend questions himself again about calling the police. I tell him to shake it off and not to worry. I think I know what my boyfriend is worried about . What really bothered him was my stepson was calling out his brother's name. My stepson is 4 years older than my son and daugther. Its so funny my kids love their brother. He loves them too. It is beautiful to see them together. My husband died the same year as Jerrry Garcia of the grateful dead. My step-son and my husband never bonded like my kids and their dad. My children were and are my stepson's link to his dad.
