I store pine cones on my front porch and use them to start fires in the fireplace. Rockie (thats what I named him) sneaks in and steals them for the nuts should I report him to the police or trap him and take him to a phsyciatrist ( he's obviously goin' nuts). Suggestions?

He's just doing what comes naturarally (eating nuts). Put the cones where he can't get at them, like a metal container with a tight fitting lid. Don't report him or trap him. I doubt animal control would bother with a squirrel anyway. Also, using pine cones to start a fire in your fireplace isn't good either. They contain a lot of pine tar or resin that can cause creosote buildup and a chimney fire.
