how much longer is "lost" going to go on for?

I like it, but I just want to know whats going on now, and im losing patience! and what was the polar bear all about? they saw a polar bear in the jungle, ran away from it and never mentioned it again! i know it is just a TV programme, but if you saw a polar bear on a tropical island, it would be all you talk about for at least a month

I read somewhere that they were looking to end it at the end of Season 4, because people were losing interest and they don't want to stretch it out too much longer.

In the beginning of the season Kate and Sawyer were being held in cages by the 'others' that were originally used for the polar bears.
