I am 16 and pregnant and my biggest issue it I get real emotional and mad alot at my bf. Another is realizing I wasted my life by having sex and getting pregnant because I won't ever be able to do alot of stuff I used to again.

I had my son at 19, but I was married in a very stable and committed relationship, which is not often the case with teens. Still the problems for us have been finances, which I think is a big issue for new parents regardless of age. I'm in college which is alot harder with a baby, but my mom helps me out alot. Also, you end up isolated from alot of your friends who can't understand that life is different now and would rather go out every night and don't see why you can't just hire a babysitter every day so you can go out and party with them. I think the younger you are, the harder it will be, and the less likely you will be able to have a lasting relationship with the father and be able to take care of your baby while still being successful in life.

Money, having fun, growing up... being an adult... well... SUCKS... having to worry about where you live, making sure that you have a job so that you can provide for the baby... and since teen parents are still teens, they want to go out and have fun but they cant... its hard...

i tihink a huge problem is communication. its the one thing that keeps parents and kids worlds a part while they live in the same house i have a 12 year old i talk to her about everything that goes on on her life. i also make it known that if she ever has a problem she can come to her father and i and we will help her sort it out. but definitly lack of communication is the on reason parents and children fight or have issues.

Inadequate understanding of what it really means to be life-long partners, to meet the needs of the baby, of each partner, and of the two of them as a couple fairly.
Poor and unkind and inconsiderate communication (which, actually, hampers all sorts of relationships at all ages.)

They don't have enough money and experience to parent a child. Also, the male usually leaves.

They're both inexperienced
They both still want to "party"
They haven't dated enough to settle down yet
They're both immature
It's unlikely that either of them will get much education
They're very likely to break up
Even if they marry--they're in the highest divorce rate age group
