America needs to fix:

1. get rid of electoral college

2. Make schools go all year for longer times each day and not let kids pass when they have lower than a C average.

3. Bring all military home to defend what we pay it to defend:us

4. Make businesses that make all their money in the U.S. to stay here.

Well, lets face it. American made IS better quality. Everything from across the ocean either shrinks or falls apart.

President Clinton had cut back...way back on the military spending and IT SHOWED by having to use the National Guard. That's no way to defend a country 'just in case' and it hurt the chances for many other programs being cut. Had the military been kept up with the latest...we wouldn't be short personnel or more advanced 'anything.' All it did was to put us behind.

Overall I think Americans....need an adjustment in attitude. I also believe that we should do a double-take on future leaders and not put all our 'faith' in what they say. Securing and keeping track of congressional voting records is a beginning. You can tell how they would run a nation on they way they vote when they're in congress...or IF they even vote. I've watched a lot of CSPAN and have seen 1/2 the members of congress missing during the most meaningful discussions about issues. Sure, they get it in paper form, but do you really think they read all of that? Don't fool yourself, they don't. Half of them are only voting on the portions of the bills they've had 'time to finish to read.'

So, Americans need to take RESPONSIBILITY. That's what we need to fix.

Yes! your right but Japan can be wiped out by a nuke from North Korea, then the USA has to make a big decision on which button to push, the return nuke button or the panic button. Now the USA can probably lay low and not be notice, but I'm pretty sure N. Korea knows where we are on the map. Then we'd wished we put that 50 billion into our Nuke program instead.

I haven't checked out the sites, but here are my thoughts:
1. Implement universal healthcare
2. Remove all military from foreign countries and in the future act only as peacekeepers and not enforcers
3. Broader spectrum in education (learn about the world, not just about the US)
4. Seriously reduce racism.
5. Enforce the seperation of church and state

you're so short sighted it explains why human beings desire an training. The medical equipment is heading in route of a economic cave in, the position even medical doctors can no longer foot their own medical education prices, now to not coach the shoppers with overhead fee no you'll hide. The infrastructure of the bridges and roads are failing swifter than than can manage to pay for to fix or replace, with us going contained in the red for rather a lot all restore jobs. cities and States have exceeded their budgets and are defaulting on loans made tot he public, and than their credit status is going down. it isn't a question of whom receives elected, it truly is a question of how they are going to restore the route we headed down 60 years in the past of shopping for now and paying later.

It's sad people still think that money is the problem with our education system.

The reason our education system sucks is - it's a monopoly regulated by the government. Until it becomes privatised at least 80%, we will never see a change no matter how much money we throw at the problem (and we have been throwing boatloads, only for things to get worse instead of improving).

Trust me, if you cut 50 billion off defence, it would not go on education.

Protectionism does not work. People want cheap, that is why they CHOSE to buy foreign goods. Ring fence your industry, and they would want your 50 billion back in tax cuts.
