mast e-mail set ups have a internal scanner, for example the yahoo mail uses a.v.g anti-virus to scan any incoming mail, but you still need to scan your own mail
your anti-virus software installed on your p.c should have a e-mail option in it,and throught his you can configure your anti-virus to scan incoming and outgoing e-mails,avast(http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html) is a good example of this,it will scan all incoming and outgoing e-mail in outlook express but can be configured to scan yahoo mail, avast also has a p2p scanner which is handy for anyone using bit comet or bit torrent
give your p.c a full sacn to check if its been infected but hopefully yahoo should of caught any virus in your mail before it reached you
good luck

if you download aol active scan which is free btw and very very good,(up there with avast) it is basically kaspersky 6 with a couple of bits missing, this will manage everything that you need, mail anti virus, resident scanner, file anti virus and highly configurable scan engine, take a look, as i say it is written and managed by kaspersky and has done very very well in tests and was graded at 8/10(Excellent was how the review was worded) i run it on about a dozen machines that i manage, and have not had a single call out for virus, infection related matters in 4-5months, i use it myself at home on my network and am very impressed with it.

BTW mcaffee is honestly not worth having just like norton

I don't know what you mean by that. How can you get a anti-virus program on your e-mail?

it's not an anti virus prog on your email it's an anti-virus prog runnin all the time on your pc that scans your email files that you download or emails that run scripts automatically. Your anti-virus prog should be loaded down t here by the time clock. look for the icon for it and when you put your pointer on it, it will show a pop up that tells you if it's on or not. if you see no anti virus prog loaded (just put the pointer on all the icons and look at the names that pop up)then your in trouble.
