I think that's something each person has to answer on their own, you know?
Like, who (except for, say, God) can really tell someone else their purpose in life?
It's somethin' you have to discover for yourself.

well, we have a lifespan of around 70 years more or less... for the first fifteen we have bad breath spots and no chance... and for arounf the last 20 no one is interested... so, we are able to reproduce for only half our lifetime.. and even then our ability to perform is limited by external parameters..ie: she says NO...

based on this observation, we'd better be here for something else as well, or were all going get rather bored most of the time... its a bit like going to war... 1% exhilaration 99% frustration...

were here to live, to learn, to work, to earn, to love, to cry and pay our taxes before we say goodbye.

goodbye...

Philosophers have been debating this for thousands of years.
Somehow, I don't think you will get a complete answer through Yahoo! Answers.

The 'price' of Life is Death.
As for our purpose, well I guess it SHOULD be the betterment of our fellow Humans and care of the Natural World.

I personally believe that the answers are as follows;

Why are we here ------ Because!
Why Anything? ----- Because Everything!

What's it all about? ------ ALFIE!

What is the meaning of Life, The Universe and Everything!?
When you find out please let me know!

And would the Last Human to live please turn off the lights before they leave!

:~}

Our purpose is finding the meaning of life. Seriously. As far as we know, such purpose distinguishes us from any other life form. And as we are not about to find an undisputed meaning to life, the search will go on for some time. Seriously. Think about it.

You confuse ultimate purpose with the proximate purpose of your everyday life. Two different levels of analysis. YOUR purpose in life can only be defined by you. Remember, the genes motives are not our motives, so define your own purpose.
