If so, what kind of grease and where do you put it? Mine is making quite a bit of noise which makes me think I should be doing something.

yes look for a spray lube its is by FEHR and it is garage door lube. If you can not fiind that use 30w motor oil in a squirt can. shoot lube on hinge points on hinges and squirt some in rollers. get an old rag put oil on it run along bottom of rail of operator and rub on sprins at least one to two inches from each end. Do not use WD40 it will evaporate and cause it to rust faster

If it has those roller skate type wheels in the tracks on both sides, the bearings in the center of these needs to be spray lubed too as well as the shafts on them where they attach to the door. The chain drive needs a grease and screw drive as well.

SILICONE SPRAY is what you need to be using in the tracks on occasions as this is a sealant with a slippery surface which helps prolong the ribbon on your door and makes the door slide not bind,which will give you longer life for you door and garage door opener.

w d40 or super lube,on the on wheels and hinge;s only if screw
type use only white grease only .any other kind will glog up the screw drive (geni has grease at home depot)if chain type any chain oil will work

If a chain drive, any chain lube will do...if Screw type, bearing grease.
