i was falling alseep towards the end so i didn't get the whole thing......i know that the little demon girl took over the good girl's boday, but did the mother and daughter die????????? what's with them walkin in the house and there is fog, but why they can't see her husband and he can't see them? please help!!!

Rose and Alessa's souls were forever trapped in the alternate world of Silent Hill. Yes, they both died. And they're now the ones trapped in Limbo. Dark Alessa got her revenge. She, together with the people of Silent Hill, got out of their Limbo and are now condemend in hell. Just as Dark Alessa had unfinished business from the beginning of the story, it's now Rose who's in Limbo and has unfinished business, and that is, to get back to her husband. Which is a good lead for a sequel.
As far as I'm concerned, the movie is very good, and is very faithful to the themes of the Silent Hill games. The way the plot unfolds and the mystery behind it, they're just great. It's very creepy and I again if you loved the games, you should love the movie.

OMG! People are retarded! Have you read Dante's Inferno? Well there you go! All those people are in Purgatory because they are DEAD! The woman's daughter is brought to the town by a connection the demon, but on the way there the mother kills herself,the girl, and the cop in the car accident! THEN they decend through Silent Hill, their sins punished either by pain or eternal dispair or just plain full fledged death! Then Rose and the girl finally escape the demon and they ascend home in the fog (Pugatory) to await the judgement, even though they are not aware that they are dead... GOT IT?

i dont know either it was of those films that u have to think about. all i know is mother and the daughter enter their car and the road reappears and they leave the town. Their dimension is still shrouded in fog, including their hometown. the dad naps at home in the real world as Rose and Sharon, still apparently invisible to him, enter the house. Though they occupy the same space, they are still separated.

They died. One of the characters (i think the man that goes into town with her husband) says that because of the fumes and stuff left in the town, the air is poisonus.
The girl and her mom went in without masks and the fumes killed them.
...supposedly...idk it was a stupid film anyway
