Hitler brainwashed the German people into believing that particular minorities were responsible for the German collapse following WW1. In conjunction with the Nazi Party, Hitler convinced the rest of Germany to militarize, nationalize, and socialize the country's resources. Initially, he told the Germans that their country should reclaim its position in Europe and stand up for its identity, but eventually, he turned them over towards pushing for the Final Solution and purifying the self-declared "Aryan" race.

The Nazi policies saved the world, by being able to come out of a world wide depression. Many countries followed Nazi Germany to a era of prosperity. I remember when Marge Shutz of the Cincinnati Reds said " At first Hitler was good for Germany " and she was lambaste for it. Forget how you "feel " about it, but it is true.So the answer is Great and for the world at that point.

It depends in which German you were.

If you were a Jew, or homosexual it influenced your life a great deal. You basically started a living hell.

Most other Germans weren't directly effected other than contributing the the war effort, etc....

Kind of like the argument I hear for the Patriot Act, "Hey it's not affecting ME it must be a great thing!"
