Some gasoline spilled onto the carpet of my vehicle. I'm looking for suggestions of the best way to neutralize it and get rid of the smell.

Hi bi carb soda! Totally cover the spot, and it will absorb the spilled mess, then you can just vacume it up? Easy Peasy!

Dont use anything on it just blot the excess. Mixing anything even water can cause chemical reaction that will destroy the back of your carpet and cause it to fall apart. It will evaporate fairly quick with the door open in the vehicle. Then just use some air freshner in the car to mask what smell is left. It will disapear within 3 days.

well if you can take the carpet out and hang up in the fresh air ,The smell will evaporate in the air , if this is not possible then try with baking powder and a little water and sponge with Tepid water . But the the first chose would be mine

I would use baking soda to soak up as much gas as possible. Then just vacuum it out. If the smell is still there, just use vanilla extract. You can pour some directly on the spill..wait a while then use a steamcleaner to suck out the vanilla(and the gas smell)
