well they don't recommend it because of gravity. in the baby is already in the vaginal canal (head down) then the pressure in the plane can cause contractions. but it doesn't happen to everyone. call your OB-GYN to be sure.

I think that is it Ok to fly while pregnant. That all depends on how far along you are because you would not want to go into labor while your on the plane.
I went to california when I was about 5 month's pregnant and everything went well.. Find out from your doctor first before you travel.. Good Luck to you!!!!

Ok when I read the question and you wrote "about to give birth" I thought you meant you were in your ninth month. As long as you are low risk you should be able to fly still but ask your doctor to be on the safe side.

Check with your doctor before going anywhere. Because of my job I had to do a bit of flying, when I fell pregnant I asked my doctor if it was ok to still fly, he told me it was fine but advised me not to fly anymore once I reached the 3rd trimester.

I was told to stop all distance traveling when I started my 3rd trimester, but I am also high risk. Some airlines may require a clearance from your doctor to travel on the plane.. so get a excuse or something just in case. Good luck.

Absolutely safe!
Ask a flight attendant!
The only danger to flying pregnant is that you may give birth on an airplane and there might not be the proper medical assistance- however it is not bad for your health or dangerous! And if you do give birth on flight guess what your baby will have an international passport- how cool is that?!!!

Most airlines will not let you fly if you are about to drop. From that height a baby could so some serious damage!

Ya need to ask the doctor..
Usually if your having a healthy pregnancy and no troubles then you will be fine, They recommend no flying in the begining of the 8 month. According to my doc.

Have you asked your ob? It is generally accepted that it's NOT okay to fly in the third trimester. Not even sure if an airline would allow you.
