I just want to know who is a left, centre or right wing politician (or government). What is the difference between them. And also I hear of centre-left, centre-right. Could someone really explain these terms to me?

It originated with the French Revolution.

Reactionaries (People who supported the Monarch and the Elites) sat on the Right side of the assembly hall where the people met.

Moderates (People who wanted slow change) in the middle.

And Revolutionaries (People who wanted quick change) on the Left.
